REVOK is currently presenting his first solo show in Los Angeles. As a pioneer of the graffiti writing, REVOK – whose real name is Jason Williams – is also working as an artist for decades. With his exhibition at Library Street Collective, the American artist presents an exclusive body of work consisting of hand-painted wood assemblages playing with geometric forms and optical illusions using bright and colorful tints.

The focus of the show is the confrontation of artisanal, handmade practice and manufactured processes. Indeed, at first glance, REVOK’s pieces appear to be computer produced when actually the total opposite happens in the making. His pixelated canvases stand alongside with symmetrical and regular pieces using mainly primary colors. Bright and pigmented, the artworks reflect REVOK’s environment. The artist moved from Detroit to Los Angeles in 2013, marking a new path in his career and artistic creation. With ‘REVOK’ Williams present his East Coast vision and new direction.
