The Langen Foundation is currently displaying an exclusive retrospective embracing Olafur Eliasson’s most comprehensives art works. 35 out of the 40 pieces on show belong to the Boros Collection and reveal the deep and continuous interest hold by Christian and Karen Boros for the Danish-Icelandic artist. This interest is besides in direct alignment with the exhibition’s title: Works from the Boros Collection 1994-2015.

This artistic panorama is a testimony of the development and variation that occurred in Olafur Eliasson’s art from his beginning to the present day. As a master of big scale installations, Eliasson combines a taste for reflective materials with an obsession for natural phenomena. Wind, water, and light all serve as inspirational tools to produce his notorious optical effects. For The weather project in the Turbine Hall of the London Tate Modern, Eliasson used of mirrors and screens in order to produce illusion and disillusion’s games that attracted more than 2 millions visitors.

Art and nature are thus two main components of Eliasson’s art. By using these constituents, the viewer’s gaze straightaway becomes part of the artworks themselves and a focal point to the birth and blossom of fascinating effects.
