On the occasion of the opening of ‚Parked Like Serious Oysters‚ at the MMK Frankfurt, Wertical interviewed three promising Städel graduates: Graziano Capitta, Inga Danysz and Anna Lucia Nissen.

Inga Danysz creates recognizable pieces sporting geometrical forms and plain colors.

Purist forms and expressive colors – this is how your art could be described. How do you put it into words?
My recent work is based on my approach to create images without using figurative forms. I was dealing with the function of color and shape, how simple gestures can speak for themselves.

What has driven the creation of your exhibition piece for ‘Parked Like Serious Oysters‘?
With my latest series of which ‘Silicone Painting No.13’ is part of, I tried to explore the concept of the shape. The work, with its lack of ornamentation and simple structure, suggests the Platonic ideal of a shape. I have tried to use this to create an internal tension within the object, as if it is stuck between two worlds, the physical, and the conceptual.

Where can we see your works after the MMK exhibition?
I am participating in the De Ateliers Residency program in Amsterdam for the next two years in which I will concentrate on my studio practice.
