The notorious Parisian Galerie Perrotin is for the second time presenting a Gianni Motti exhibition. ‚Draft‘, evasive title, signifies the intemporality and ever changing approach Motti applicates to art. Until the opening time, every single art piece is subject to a radical change that characterizes the Italian artist body of work.

Motti draws his inspiration from the news, from what is to become history. Hence, he informs as well as plays with his spectators. As emphasizes with ‚Think Tank‘ (2008), a room which floor is covered with unfixed tiles that make it impossible for the visitor to cross or even stand in it. With ‚Draft‘ Motti creates a reminiscence of 2003 Prague event, the Czech Biennal that monopolized dozens of military groups, their weapons and devices. The translation of this circumstance is circular barbed wire that occupies entire rooms of the Perrotin space. This immersion is light and strong all at once. The piles take possession of the space, forbidding the spectators their natural access to it, and therefore interrogating the relationship between art, viewer and creator as emphasized by the artist’s saying:’I told myself that, possibly, I too, one day, would be able to claim something… The advantage of claims about natural phenomena is that ‚God‘ is something like your assistant…‘
