The Op Art master is presenting her first show since 2007 in the New York. The exhibition at David Zwirner marks the 50th anniversary of the show that launched Bridget Riley‚s career and reputation, the famous ‚The Responsive Eye’ at the Museum of Modern Art.

Th exhibition is a development of the 2014 David Zwirner retrospective ‘Bridget Riley: The Stripe Paintings 1961- 2014’ and thus displays some of the iconic stripes paintings along with new and old optic patterns. The notorious British artist aims at creating active visual experience through her works. Wether is is in black and white or in colorful tones, Riley excels in mimicking movements, forms and colors through her works. Not only does she illusions forms, she goes as far as simulating feelings and impressions so that the view alone of one her piece can bring you a sky diving sensation.

From the late 70s‘ to nowadays, the show offers a wide range of works as well as an inside of their evolution. It begins with the Egypt inspired plastic related striped, pass by her 2012 Rajasthan series to wind up to her most recent black and white stripes that mark a return to her first works.
