Picasso Black and White

Picasso Black and White is the first exhibition to focus exclusively on Picasso’s black-and-white works in such depth. It comprises 118 paintings, sculptures, and works on paper by the Spanish master, many on public display for the first time. From early portraits of his Blue and Rose periods, Cubist canvases, neoclassical portraits, Surrealist paintings, and studies for Guernica, to the electric, highly sexualized canvases of Picasso’s last years.

This evening, the celebrated artist Jeff Koons will discuss his enduring fascination with Pablo Picasso from a unique perspective as a fellow collector and creator. Paired in lively conversation with art historian and independent curator Pepe Karmel, New York University, this dialogue will unfold as an exploration of both artists‘ expansive artistic production, delving into themes of conflict and creation as framed by insightful parallels across media, scale, and time.
