Garden of Eden is an installation of Joana Vasconcelos that comes across as the negative of the classical idea of the garden, undermining some of the presuppositions that define it.The garden seen as the paradigm of the replacement ecosystem appears to be an imitation of nature.

However, a walk through this surprising and dream-like low-tech Eden reveals the flagrant artificiality of the flowers and the light that shines on them; it emerges as an indoor space deprived of daylight where we can hear the mechanical sounds of hundred of motors at work, thus provoking the sabotage of the fraudulent mechanisms of hyper-reality and simulation.
