The Korean-based Kukje Gallery is presenting a Kim Hong Joo exhibition. After five years of absence, the Korean artist reveals new pieces as well as an overview of his work through his eponymous show.

Hong Joo is a prominent figure of the S.T (Space and Time) Group that promotes Korean conceptual art. He quickly gained recognition through his recognizable works that led him to display worldwide. His works explore the many possibilities of circular shapes through emblematic colors and relentless efforts. His practice shows through his dense formations in which each detail is meticulously thought of, giving tactility to his oeuvre. Challenging the idea of narrative and content, his works are all named ‘Untitled’ to concentrate only on their visual aspect.

This overview of the artist’ works open more in depth interpretations and give way to his essentialist deconstructed images.
