Kostas Murkudis
‚At Close Range‘

The German designer to Greek parents Kostas Murkudis is currently the subject of an exhibition at the MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt on the Main. A choice of fashion creations, collections, and prototypes are at the centre of ‘At Close Range’ – a show where his items are juxtaposed to pieces from the museums collection.

Launched in 1996, the Kostas Murkudis fashion brand kept the same directive lines along the years. Uncluttered, geometrical and structured pieces are guiding each and every of the collections and thus, are central for the content and display of the show. It’s no surprise that the MMK presents a Murkudis-focused exhibition. The museum has three of the designers collections and it was 2010 when Murkudis exhibited at the museum for the first time. Being a constant companion, Carsten Nicolai realized the showcase of Murkudis presentation in 2010 and has also been involved in the setup of ‘At Close Range’.
