Marinella Senatore
‚Scenografia‘

Sep 15, 2015

Berlin

Scenografia is Marinella Senatore’s third solo exhibition with Peres Project gallery. The Italian visual artist is the author of ROSAS (2012), an opera that involved 20’000 citizens from various countries performing dance, opera, sounds and lights. Senatore’s works focus on storytelling, media mixing and crowd collaboration that has been rewarded on several occasions by the MAXXI Prize and the Venice Biennal.

With a background in cinematography, Senatore perceives and creates all of her works as a movie. Scenografia is another proof of this form. Unusual and improvised sets form the core of the exhibition. As red cinematic filters recover the window of Peres Projects, the space is transformed in a mini studio location in which each different universe can be performed by the viewers. Scenografia is presented sideways an installation at the art fair ABC – Art Berlin Contemporary.

Alongside her artistic works, Senatore created in 2014 The School of Narrative Dance, a nomadic, free dance school with a focus on body language storytelling that epitomizes her will for overall cultivation.
