‘In your Face’ is Mario Testino‘s first traveling exhibition. After a premiere at the Museum of Fine Arts of Boston in 2012, a show at the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano and at the Museu de Arte Brasileira, the exhibition has now arrived at the Kunstbibliothek – Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.

The Peruvian photographer constructs direct drives, effortless positions and settings. They appear like caught on the moment when actually hours of elaboration are demanded to obtain the final image. For Testino, this is where the magic happens: when an impression of genuineness emerges from a fabricated outcome. Through his portraits, nudes, publicities, or more recently the baptism of princess Charlotte, the photographer invents a fictional reality.

For Testino ‘In your Face’ ‘represents the most free way of expression. This particular hanging style for these photographic works allows all of these different aspects of my curiosity to have a conversation; they not only exist on their own but trigger a reaction when being next to each other.’
