Berlin

On occasion of upcoming Gallery Weekend Berlin (April 29 – May 1), Geman artist Michael Sailstorfer and Swedish brand COS launch their collaboration resulting in an installation bringing together both worlds of art and fashion.

After Sou Fujimoto creating a Forest of Light at the Salone del Mobile 2016 for COS, the retailer is announcing another artistic collaboration, this time which sculptor Michael Sailstorfer. The installation is entitled Silver Cloud and draws upon the artist’s video piece Tränen in which iron tear sculptures were released from cranes. The piece is inspired by early minimalism and is a reference to Michael Heizer’s 1969 Bern Depression piece. The public performance work responds to Michael Sailstofer visual language that brings together unexpected fields such as nature and technology in an articulated form.

On Wednesday, April 27, we will take you to the preview of Silver Cloud sharing first-hand impressions on Instagram. On this occasion, we also sit down with Michael Sailstorfer to talk the collaboration, fashion and art. It will be online on Thursday.
