Nils Müller
‚Vandals‘

Völklingen

The Weltkulturerbe Völklinger Hütte is currently presenting a Nils Müller exhibition. Entitled ‘Vandals’ the show is part of the UrbanArt Biennale and refers to the eponymous book published by the German photograph who specialized in depicting urban artists in action.

Without capturing the final urban art creations, Müller concentrates on the process. The act itself, cope with adrenaline, promptness and excitement, forms the core of his photograph series. As with ‘Super Hero’ in which a painter climb on a train engine to better tag it or with ‘Topsprayer’ that captures from above a spray painter colorfully covering a railway line, Müller snaps the behind the scenes of the Urban Art practice. By night and around the world, from Seoul to Mailand, the photographs keep the mystery of the artists‘ identity by only delivering their art process.

Being part of the UrbanArt Biennale, Vandals by Nils Müller is displayed along installations from major urban art artists such as Jef Aerosol, Tarek Benaoum and Ludo.
