Madrid-based Galería Javier Lopez currently presents Intuitive Mathematics – a solo exhibition with Phil Frost. Frost is a New York-based painter. He has evolved a consistent, instantly recognizable aesthetic that melds layers of flat white culturally indeterminate mask-like forms with bold typographical and fluid glyphic geometric and sinuous shapes that dance above vivid spectrums of painterly color, forming the long necked busts and repetitions of faces that are described as his intuitive portraiture. Starting out with graffiti, the use of white color is a reacting against the genre which usually comes in very colorful.

The exhibition title alludes to a gestural build up of glyphic information: a counting, chanting, pulsing persistence of rhythm decoding an inner perception of interactive epiphany.
