There is hardly another part of Germany in which the regional identity is upheld with as much relish as in the south-west. But what is Baden really all about? Which historical events and people defined this region? How much is still alive in people’s minds, and which developments showed effects beyond the state border?

The comprehensive exhibitions showing art works of Stefan Strumbel are being held on the occasion of the 900th anniversary of the region of Baden and provide answers to these questions. 33-year-old Strumbel thematizes „Heimat.“ Born in Offeburg/Baden, the 33-year-old confesses himself to old traditional values instead of adapting to the quick pace that our digitized society presets. Stefan Strumbel’s works do not only decorate the rooms of the Museum at Market Square, he also did a monumental installation, which covers the entry of Karlsruhe’s castle, as well as there is gallery Schrade showing his art works.
