Basel

In order to close the gap between established galleries showcasing at Art Basel and up-and-coming ones at LISTE, three gallerists – Kavi Gupta, Friedrich Loock and Ulrich Voges – and art critic Amanda Coulson joined forces and founded VOLTA in 2005. VOLTA is an art fair for new international positions offering a platform for international galleries.

During the 12th edition of VOLTA, 70 galleries from 20 countries are showcasing a selected range of their portfolio until the June 18. Copenhagen-based V1 Gallery is showing works from HuskMitNavn, Wes Lang, Todd James and many others displayed all together frame to frame on their PARLOR wall. Patrick Mikhail Gallery from Montreal features the sculptural neon works from Michael John Vickers while Los Angeles-based Richard Heller Gallery reveals the op art works from Sasha Pierce.

The 12th edition of VOLTA proofs its uniqueness. Again the motto is: exhibition over trade fair atmosphere.
