Marlborough Gallery is currently exhibiting with Georges Herms. The American artist that founded the West Coast aesthetics is hither presenting some of his famous amoncellement pieces made from unexpected, rough, even dirty objects that he powerlessly turns into poetic and emblematic sculptures. Entitled ´Viewing room´, the exhibition celebrates the artist´s body of work including both constructions and paintings.

´That´s my whole thing, I turn shit into gold. I just really want to see something I´ve never seen before.´ Herms´s art cannot be better explained than by its author himself. The unusual, the waste, the disregarded is Herm´s playground from which he builds marvelous pieces. In between poetry and plastic art, his works extend further away by the realization of theater plays and poetry. This poetry is well embodied in ´Viewing room´ through ‚Tarzan Feathers Forklift´ or ´Spade Shuttle´. Two pieces that epitomize the modern magic skill of Herms who insert grace into deluded objects and make the neglected become luxury.
