Nils Müller
Linz
Nils Müller is a multi-faceted creative, who rigorously follows his own visions. Starting as a graffiti sprayer himself, he depicts the worldwide train writing movement in his photographs. He does not only shed light on the illegal and mysterious, but shifts it up to another level of taste and aesthetic as well. Müller captures somewhat criminal yet sophisticated that comes into view in his 2008 book Blütezeit.
As his photographs are being regarded as the extension of the work of Martha Cooper and Henry Chalfant, he exhibited together with Cooper in 2011. Within the context of the Bubble Days that took place in Linz from June 15th to 16th, he showed early and art works as well as a large-sized print that reads Vandals. Of course, the lettering describes the act of graffiti, but it is also the heading of the exhibited photo series as well as the title of Nils Müller’s second book, which is due to be published in the beginning of 2013.
