With Art Basel 2016 coming to an end, it is time to come back on the high points of the leading international art fair.

To begin with the galleries. Metro Pictures presents a new series of works by Cindy Sherman featuring herself as a middle-aged women in different social settings. Alice Pauli caught attention with a large scale canvas by Pierre Soulage, Hauser & Wirth captivated the visitors with a Mike Kelley piece entitled Memory Ware flat #10, Galerie Thaddeus Ropac with a mesmerizing work by Robert Rauschenberg, Luxembourg & Dayan surprised with 15 minutes performances scheduled throughout the day staging Da inventor sul post (To invent on the Spot). Gagosian Gallery made a strong impression with a Richard Prince and Damien Hirst’s famous pharmacy shelve while White Cube presented Fred Tomaseli’s cosmic snakes and Marian Goodman Gallery Gerhrard Richter canvases. Dot master Yayoi Kusama was likewise present on Victoria Miro’s booth.

In the Unlimited section the all grey interior from Hans op de Beeck, The Accumulation: Searching for Destination by Chiharu Shiota, Ai Weiwei’s monumental architecture and James Turrell’s installation that people queued to see marked Art Basel 47th edition by their format and creativity.
