Johannes Post at ART DEMO DAY

Nov 25, 2015

Cologne

Johannes Post questions our perception. He transforms everyday unnoticed advertisements into pieces of art that arise the attention on the fine boundary in between subliminal material and art.

Johannes Post is a German artist born in 1983 in Neuss. He graduated in 2011 from the Hochscule fur bildende Kunste Hamburg where he was reached by Prof. Jeanne Faust, Prof. Jochen Lempert and Prof. Heike Mutter. He exhibited all over Germany, in Venezuela, in Australia and in Bulgaria.

Florian Waldvogel, the curator of the first ART DEMO DAY, interviewed seven participating artists. From today on, we present a new interview each day.

Florian Waldvogel: What have you found to be influential during the Art studies?
Johannes Post: Some good conversations and everything out of the Academy.

FW: To what extent are social references important for your work?
JP: Absolute.

FW: What is an exhibition?
JP: Ranging from ‘elitist fawning over’ in nicely decorated etablissement to ‘mind expanding Revelation’.
