‚ADDITION: Gift Pieter and Marieke Sanders‘

In 2013, the art collectors Pieter and Marieke Sanders made a donation of over 100 artworks to the Stedelijk museum of Amsterdam. Two years later, the freshly renovated museum is showing the Sanders Collection with the exhibition `ADDITION: Gift Pieter and Marieke Sanders´. The show is staged as a conversation in-between the new works of art and the existing collection of the Stedelijk.

Jan Andriesse, Marinus Boezem, Alicia Framis, Ryan Gander and Stephen Waddell are just some of the artists that are part of the Sanders Collection. For over forty years, the couple collected renowned artworks. With a taste for the extraordinary moments of the everyday life, the collection has amassed precious works of photography, paintings and sculptures to cite some of the medium on view. Stephen Wadell´s ` Man With Heavy Sack´ or Ryan Gander simplistic and poetic works embody the overall feeling conveyed by the show that combines international and Dutch artists in one of the most reputed Dutch museums.
