‚Hello I love you‘

Frankfurt

The Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt is presenting a Daniel Richter exhibition. The German artist known for his modern theatrical paintings staging secretive characters in a baroque environment announces a turning point in his work with Hello I Love You. The show diverges from any Richter expected visual and, as put by the artist, responds to the interrogation „How can a picture be reduced formally while being charged at the same time as regards content?“

Twenty new works constitute the core of the exhibition. All discernible through their vibrant colors and emancipated shapes. In an abstract narrative manner, Richter defies the boundary in between the representative and the transcendental. The human, its body language and the space he evolves in are still very present in the paintings even though built in another yet distinctive way. Hello I Love You is the embodiment of a change in the artist’s work that he likes to call the ‚milestone on a longer journey‘.
