Finok, Ise (VLOK) / Namastê

New Delhi, Varanasi, Agra

It was in summer 2011 when Brazilian artists, Finok and Ise from graffiti crew VLOK, spent their holidays in India. Traveling New Delhi, Varanasi and Agra, they – of course – painted a lot, but above all, they gained unforgettable impressions that still inspire them today.

As such, it is no wonder that they edited their video footage and just recently released a video that shows both their graffiti and the city life on the streets: people, vivid colors, traffic, architecture,…

This journey to India also made it’s presence felt during Finok’s latest exhibition at Ruttkowski;68 gallery in Cologne/Germany. While the 26-year-old his most famously known for his remarkable color selection that bases on all shades of green, that exhibition showed one canvas that apparently backs away from this diction: the color scheme concentrates on yellow, orange and red, the symbols hint at their Indian influence and the title is Namastê!
