Para
‚Salut‘
Brussels
With ‚Salut‚, Parra shows at Brussels-based Alice Gallery for the first time. The exhibition title is from the French implying a welcome greeting and a goodbye at the same time. This ambiguity alludes to Parra’s multi-tasking skills. Inspired from the „everyday and the awkward,“ the Dutch artist elaborates various topics taking shape in different media such as canvas, paper, sculpture and commodities such as vases and skateboards.
The Dutch artist uses pop tints and pure lines to balance his works. Indeed, the colors are using plain, separated by a thick black outline shaping for and back grounds. Minimalism is therefore a keyword for the artist who uses graphic definition as his symbol of recognition. Next to his solo show at Alice Gallery, Parra’s work is currently on view at the Kunsthal of Rotterdam that honor his past 10 years of work.
