Annika Kleist
‚Pollux‘

Cologne

SSZ Sued is presenting the last days of Annika Kleist’s exhibition. Entitled ‘Pollux’, the show is emblematic of her big scale imagery, reflection of an emotional, personal and meticulous black and white world.

Kleist is working with charcoal technic and an extensive philosophical, art historical library. Her broad inspiration array is translated into vast paintings that quote literature or music in a contemporary and intimate manner. The status of master student in the class of the German artist Astrid Klein is as well relevant through her art. Text, and collage are fundamental in Klein’s work and the point of departure of Kleist’s creations. By suggesting new interpretations and representations of some cult literary and pictorial works, Kleist created Pollux, her first solo show with SSZ Sued.
