There is no way to avoid being confronted with visuals in these days as we live in a visual culture. The communication techniques that are constantly subject to innovation accelerate the worldwide circulation of images. As a result of the digitization, we are constantly surrounded by myriad images.
Still, there is also remembrance of a time when images were few and at the same time valuably.
The current exhibition Helmut Newton Polaroids in the Helmut Newton Foundation, Berlin is a retrospective view of a bygone visual culture presenting polaroids from the just mentioned iconic photographer, who used the technology intensively starting in the 1970s, especially for his fashion photo shoots.
